6 1/2 Weeks

Well, Chloe is 6 1/2 weeks old and growing like a weed! At her 3 week check-up she weighed 9 lbs 6.6 oz (75th percentile), was 22" long (90-95th percentile) and her head was 36.5" (50th percentile). She got a clean bill of health from the pediatrician!

Last night I went through her dresser and took out all of her newborn sized clothes. She's too tall for them now. I think we did pretty good with making sure she wore everything at least once :) Now the challenge is how many of her 0-3 month sized clothes will she wear before she's too big? I'm hoping she will stay petite long enough to wear them all at least once. There are some CUTE outfits in there :)

She hasn't hit many milestones yet other than smiling. She does that a lot. I haven't figured out yet what triggers them. Sometimes she'll smile at nothing while her head is turned looking at the wall. Sometimes she'll smile while you play with her. She and I have a game we play that gets her smiling. I'll poke her bottom lip with my finger and ask her where here tongue is. Then I'll put my finger in her mouth and touch her tongue and say, "There it is!" She finds this quite amusing. If I keep doing it, she'll stick her tongue out and smile. I haven't been able to catch it on camera yet.

I guess a great milestone she hit has been sleeping through the night. God blessed us with a baby that knows what night time is. We of course didn't realize that until week 4 or 5 though. She'd always have a meltdown between 9 and 11pm and we realized she was calling it quits for the day. She didn't wake up again for a feeding 2-3 hours later and she'd actually be really hard to wake.

At week 5 we bought a Swaddle Me. Best purchase EVER!! :) We were swaddling her in a blanket at night which worked really well. (or so we thought) We could get 4-6 hours out of her before she would start crying. I would wake up to get her and she'd be completely unswaddled and cold.

The first night that we put her in the Swaddle Me she slept for 8 hours! I say slept, but really, she let me sleep for 8 hrs. **See Note Below** The next night she slept for 10.

** We have a video monitor in her crib and we're able to see what she's doing. She will go to sleep for a few hours, wake up and spend some time trying to get unswaddled, wear herself out and go back to sleep. I don't wake up until she's screaming because either 1) she wiggled an arm out but can't get the other arm out 2) she wiggled both arms out and is cold or 3) she can't get any arms out and now she's really mad because she's been working at it for long enough she gets ticked off!! **

So, that's the update for now. Enjoy the pictures! :)
