Week 22 Update

Well, I figured I should post something since it's been a few weeks.

Today I have reached the 22 week mark. Still feels very surreal!

Chloe is very active - more and more every day. She was kicking all day on Christmas - probably due to the sugar I was consuming. David felt her kick for the first time on the 15th.

This morning when we woke up I could feel her moving inside, so I put Dave's hand on my stomach and he could feel her moving her butt. Right now it's to the right of my belly button. Very distinct feeling too. It's not a kick, its a hard lump that moves :) She loves music. Every time it's playing, either at home or at church, I can feel her moving around.

I love that I finally have a bump too! It took a while for my stomach to round out, but now it's round enough and hard enough that Dave says it looks and feels like I swallowed a basketball :)

Starting to not be able to wear regular shirts without another shirt underneath. (I wear them at home and save maternity shirts for church.) I haven't tried putting on my jeans in the last week - I probably couldn't get them buttoned if I wanted to! These maternity pants are just so comfy!

Well, that's it for now. I will update after my appt on the 4th, if I have more news to share. And if not then, I'll update after my ultrasound on the 14th. (They're going to check her heart to make sure her in and out flow are working and also check my placenta and tell me if I have placenta previa or not). Oh and I'll put nursery pictures up as soon as we're done. We hopefully will get lots accomplished this week!

It's a GIRL!!!

Well, we had our ultrasound on Tuesday and everything looks great as far as baby is concerned. We would like to announce that we're having a baby girl. Her name is Chloe Lynn. Seems appropriate since she's due in May. Chloe means 'blooming'. April showers bring May flowers :)

My midwife wants me back though in 10 weeks to do another ultrasound. They want to check the in and out flow of Chloe's heart (she is too young right now to see them) and make sure that the placenta has moved up, not down. Right now it's only 1 cm from my cervix. For those of you who are unaware of the dangers of that, if the placenta covers the cervix, it's a condition called Placenta Previa and there is no way to have a natural childbirth. It'd be a scheduled cesarean section. Also, if the placenta is close to the cervix, it could cause more bleeding than normal. So far we're okay and we'll continue to pray that it moves up.

Chloe is measuring around 9 oz. Perfect for a baby that is 19 weeks gestation. It is still very surreal to have a baby growing inside of me. I haven't started showing big-time yet. If I wear my maternity pants I look pregnant, but I've only gained 2 inches in my waist. I guess I just need to embrace my 'overweightness' and enjoy looking pregnant, even though it's not baby yet :)

Still not feeling the baby move. I can't wait for the day I do - and better yet, when David can feel her moving!! Soon and very soon she'll be kicking me in the ribs while I'm trying to sleep!

We will find out officially what we are having on December 7th. I'm praying baby cooperates!

We had our 14 week appointment on Wednesday and we got to hear the heartbeat again. It was 160bpm.
Not much else to report on. I'm still not feeling pregnant, size wise. I am a little less conscious about my stomach now. I pooch it out with pride :) People keep saying, "Oh, you have a bump!". Nope, that's just fat, but thank you for noticing, hehe
Can't wait for the 'jello belly' moment where I can just sit and watch my belly move around. Soon and very soon!
I will be 15 weeks tomorrow (the 8th).

Yes, it's true!! We're having a baby :)

Welcome to our blog! We wanted a place where friends and family could come and check up on our progress with the pregnancy and later when baby is born, how he/she is growing up.

Our little bundle's due date is May 2nd. We'll see how that pans out :)

At 10 weeks we got to see our baby. The heartbeat was at 180 bpm.

As of today, October 25th, I'm 13 weeks pregnant and in the 2nd trimester. The first trimester went by very quickly. Not too much morning sickness, just some nausea and food aversions.

Now, only 7 more weeks until we know if there's a Bryce or a Chloe in there. Vote on the right side of the page for what you think we're having :)
